Job Summary:



We are seeking a Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst with strong Business Analysis (BA) experience to support a state transportation agency in enhancing and maintaining critical IT systems. The ideal candidate will have experience in both software testing and requirements gathering within public sector transportation projects. This hybrid role bridges quality assurance and business analysis to ensure project deliverables meet business needs and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, execute, and maintain detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on business requirements.

• Collaborate with business users and stakeholders to gather, document, and validate functional and non-functional requirements.

• Perform manual and automated testing on web, mobile, and backend applications, focusing on transportation systems.

• Conduct system integration, regression, and user acceptance testing (UAT).

• Participate in requirements walkthroughs, design reviews, and test planning sessions with developers and project managers.

• Identify, document, and track bugs and defects using tools like JIRA, ALM, or similar.

• Act as a liaison between technical teams and business users to ensure system functionality aligns with user needs.

• Provide support during implementation and post-deployment phases.

• Adhere to state standards for documentation, testing, and project delivery.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in Quality Assurance and Software Testing.

• 2+ years of experience in Business Analysis or hybrid QA/BA roles.

• Strong experience with SDLC, Agile, and Waterfall methodologies.

• Hands-on experience testing transportation-related applications (e.g., licensing, permitting, vehicle registration, traffic systems, GIS).

• Strong understanding of test case management and defect tracking tools.

• Proficiency with SQL for data validation.

• Excellent documentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, particularly in interfacing with government stakeholders.
