Marico Bangladesh Limited is amongst the top 3 FMCG MNC companies and a trusted brand in beauty and wellness space in Bangladesh. Their sales declined because their existing app was too slow to be used by the employees.
The employees discontinued using the app and they were demotivated too. The transparency in the process reduced. Hence Marico Limited came up with idea of developing a new App for Bangladesh region and VLink was chosen to develop the same.
Delayed response
Slow mobile app speed which makes it difficult to access the available features. And hence, the app’s responsive was experiencing a big lag.
Lack of latest elements
Businesses need to understand that providing an impactful user experience is one of the success factors. And to achieve this they need to implement the latest technologies and functionalities. This is what is lacked in Marico’s app.
Deployment & execution time
The client requested us to deploy the solution within 3 months as they were experiencing steep decline in their business growth. As their sales were slowing down at a rapid pace, a new effective mobile was expected to break these challenges and provide desired outcomes.
The stack VLink provided to the Edelweiss Tokio project included IBM WebSphere Portal Server, Mobile-first approach, Business process management, Angular JS and Enterprise Service Bus. For IndiaFirst, Liferay Portal Server was used. There is a lot of complexity in deploying all this equipment and making it fit with what’s left of the legacy equipment and ensure it is performing as promised.
VLink, worked through implementation, Sambhavi said, “because we had rich experience in developing web portals and mobile apps, combined with good experience working in the insurance domain.”
Security, a big concern in the insurance sector, was provided by installation of SSL certificates on user interfaces and compliance with OWASP Application Security Verification Standard (ASVS) on the websites
The IndiaFirst Life Insurance project took 10 months, and the Edelweiss Tokio took about two years. No VLink personnel was embedded with either company. Some retraining was necessary, but it was accomplished quickly in the required timeline, Sambhavi said.
